In 1997, after many years as a heating and air conditioning service technician, I decided to hang up my tool belt and begin selling heating and air conditioning systems. I wanted to help my service customers when the time came to replace their old systems by informing them about the choices they had when selecting equipment. It has been very rewarding helping homeowners make informed choices.

In an attempt to help more homeowners sort through this information, five years ago I began conducting monthly Homeowner Workshops. The workshops provide homeowners with a wealth of valuable information before they make this decision.

There are so many different brands, and so many options that it can become confusing to any homeowner. What efficiency rating (SEER) is the best choice for the air conditioner? What efficiency rating (AFUE) is the right choice for the furnace? How much will I save on my utility bills? Which combinations will qualify for rebates?

Efficiency ratings can be confusing, but what about all the different types of furnaces and air conditioners? Furnaces can be single stage, two stage, and variable speed. Air conditioning units can be single stage or two stage. Which unit will be the quietest? What impact will the phase-out of Freon have? What are the new regulations regarding minimum efficiency ratings and duct testing? Do I need to replace all of the components of my system? Do I need a permit? What type of filter is best? What about the ducts?

If you don’t have the answers to these questions then you would benefit greatly from our next Homeowners Workshop. Spend just two hours with us on Saturday morning, July 23rd and you’ll know the answers to all of these questions, and many more. There is no cost, no calories and zero carbs. So, come and join the fun! If interested in attending call Alex at (818) 886-2600 to make a reservation. Join us and your neighbors for a cup of coffee and some useful information.
