I already knew my A/C was failing and replacement was inevitable. I had an existing high-end system, and wanted to replace it with the same model. It was expensive, but necessary.
*Here's what I liked about Kahn's install:*
1. They were able to get all the parts needed, including the new R454b refrigerant without delay. I understand the refrigerant is rationed in some places.
2. I was particular about when I wanted to schedule the install for two reasons -- A) I needed it to be a day that wasn't too hot, knowing I'd be without A/C and B) I didn't want the techs working in my attic on a hot day, it gets dangerously hot up there, and I knew it would make the work go slower. The salesman wasn't sure he could get me my first choice of date, so we set up for my 2nd choice. The install scheduler called me the day after I accepted the quote and was able to give me my first choice date.
3. I was quoted a day to a day and a half for the install. When it became apparent that it wasn't going to be up and running at the end of day one, one of the installers drove from my house to Kahn's HQ to pick up a portable A/C unit and bring it to me. (They recently moved from near my house, to the other side of the Valley.) He did this in rush-hour, at the end of a long work day. Major points for this.
4. Halfway through Day 2, the installers were having an issue getting the system set up, so they had the General Manager come out to my house to help figure it out. The GM couldn't have been nicer, and walked me through how the fancy new thermostat works and gave me his email address for any questions, concerns, etc. He worked with me directly, replied very quickly to my emails and set up the warranties for me. This was probably the most impressive aspect of the whole experience. His phone kept ringing while we were talking, and he silenced it each time without even checking it, showing me I had his full attention. That is amazing customer service.
5. I had asked the salesman and the installers to make an unrelated, minor repair that was outside my own ability to fix. They did it without even adding on an additional cost. I know this because the installers didn't have it on the work order.
6. The installers worked really hard. They didn't slack, they explained to me what they were doing, and they worked really hard to make sure this expensive system was working as designed. They were terrific.
7. The first tech that came to diagnose the failing system gave me his personal cell number (not the work cell, I had that one already) in case I had any issues after the install.
8. The salesman didn't try to upsell me anything that I didn't want or need or ask for. I asked for an upgrade voluntarily, but no one was pushy, at any point.
*Here's what I didn't like about the install:*
1. While the GM replied to my emails very quickly, I would have liked for the salesman, who got me to agree to the quote, to call me after a week to gauge my satisfaction. That would have been nice. I never heard from him.
2. The condenser arrived damaged. Apparently they couldn't get me a new one that day, so I eventually agreed to let them replace the damaged part and continue the install. I suspect they couldn't replace it because they were unwilling to source it from a different supply house, but I have no evidence about that.
I took three weeks to contemplate my satisfaction with the purchase before writing this review. All things considered, I do feel like it was a very good experience with Kahn and I don't regret my decision to go with them. I feel confident that they'll stand by their work, and if I have any issues I believe they'll come right back in short order.
02/25/2025 - Service Technician Ramiro Castro came out and did a great job troubleshooting and inspecting the HVAC unit. He fixed my problem quickly and helped me reset my thermostat so it filters the air for better quality. I highly recommend using Kahn Air Conditioning for any of your HVAC service needs.
12/09/2024 - Today's service call was to find the source of an intermittent issue I was having and Kahn Air certified service technician, Ramiro Castro, came to the rescue! Ramiro was able to methodically and meticulously find the problem and also find an excellent solution. I am very happy with the fantastic service that Ramiro provided and I highly recommend using him for your AC and heating equipment service needs.
10/23/2024 - Today I did my annual maintenance heating service and my service technician was Alexander C.
I was very impressed with how Alexander explained his findings using photos and how he cleaned my AC unit throughly, making it look like new again! Alexander did a very professional job and I highly recommend using him for your maintenance service.

Kahn Air Conditioning has been taking care of my AC and Heating equipment for 27 years now, keeping it running smoothly all these years. As part of a recent remodel, I upgraded my 31 year old AC and heating unit to a brand new high efficient system which included a smart thermostat that I can control from my phone. Project manager Dan Darst took expert care overseeing the entire project, and he and his highly trained and certified technicians, Enrique Flores and Jose Sanchez made the installation of the new equipment seamless and smooth and stress free. They were professional and clean and efficient in their work and I am extremely happy with the job. I highly recommend Kahn Air Conditioning for all your cooling and heating needs, as they do high quality work and truly care about making the customer happy.

He arrived on time, was very personable, friendly, competent, and knowledgeable. He serviced our Carrier air conditioner, and told us of some features of our thermostat that we did not know about so that we could better adjust it for the upcoming summer months. We would like him to return in December to service the heater as well. Job well done. 6 stars out of 5!
