We are all bombarded with a myriad of print advertising, attempting to inform us why we shouldn’t wait any longer if we want to take advantage of this ‘spectacular’ offer. Millions upon millions of advertising dollars are spent every year in an effort to lure consumers to spend their money for a specific product or service.

I can’t help but laugh when I receive the ones relating to heating and air conditioning. These shysters will mail out thousands of letters offering prices that are almost unbelievable. That’s the problem. Some unsuspecting homeowners will let these people into their homes to give their spiel.

The devil is in the details. It’s not always what they’re telling you that is the problem, it’s what they’re not telling you. Companies such as these need to advertise constantly because their previous customers would never use them again or recommend them to anyone they know, after they’ve learned about their shoddy workmanship.

I get to see many, many proposals from several heating and air conditioning contractors. (I keep the most bizarre ones in my desk drawer). Customers are always surprised to learn how many things that were included in our proposal, were not included in the other ‘bids’.

It’s very important for you to learn as much as you can before buying any heating or air conditioning system. At the very least, check with the local Better Business Bureau to find out their rating of any company, as well as how many complaints they may have.

You can add to your education by coming to our next Homeowners Workshop. In two hours, you’ll learn enough to be able to make an informed decision. Call our office to reserve your seat.

When people find something special they tell their friends about it. That’s why we’ve been in business for almost 50 years.
